I wouldn't think so. Smashwords authors get a set royalty from Smashwords for each unit sold. Weird Al was suing on behalf of his own publishing company which had a contract with Sony. Could be two completely different terms of the contract.
Smashwords authors don't have a contract with Sony, but with Smashwords.
If there are any irregularities with Sony royalties, Smashwords would have the contractual agreement with Sony and not Smashwords authors.
Until the dust settles with Weird Al and the courts prove there was some irregularities with royalties as they applied to Weird Al, there's not much sense in worrying about it. Smashwords would have to have a legal opinion as to whether or not those same irregularities found against Sony in the lawsuit with Weird Al would apply to Smashwords.
As for me, the majority of my ebooks going through Sony are my free ebooks. Sort of like Amazon; lots of free ebooks in my sales report from KDP.
