Interest concept with the 8 step article, but totally silly.
Like don't take phone into bedroom, but read a book before sleep??? What about reading on a phone, or other device? Meditating is good, any time of the day. Saying do so in the morning is just routine. Read 40 - 50 pages? What? You should have a list in order of importance to do every morning, created the day or week before. If writing articles, you should have researched and have a list or notes ready to write the article. Write by hand? the lists could have been written by hand. But why write by hand, either story or article? Makes more work for yourself to then type up the handwritten words, why do that?
Number 8 is good. Write a set number of words every day. I write (or try to) one scene every day, 5 days a week. Again, routine. Sit in chair, and write. After 55 minutes, get up, walk around, make coffee, whatever for 5-10 minutes, then back in chair, and write another 55 minutes. Routine is Key to Successful articles and stories. :-)
Routine works. While walking around, you are resting your eyes from the monitor. WH&S. Repeat for another hour, and another hour. Prolific writers can do that for 4 or more hours each day, or afternoon, or night. I can do it for up to 3 hours before my mind stops giving me new ideas. :-)

I really get into this brain stuff, what it is capable of. When you think of the stuff we do feed it, and then obsess on on a daily basis, well, I for one am embarrassed thinking about what I tend to think about...

No need for embarrassment. After all we are all writers. I walk around the house saying nasty things (out loud) to images of both good and bad characters, trying the words on for fit. Then when I am writing I use the best ones for character speech. :-)
