www.draft2digital.com/blog/d2d-print-now-in-beta-heres-what-you-need-to-know/Just had this in. As I wait for three of my old books written on stone to give as prezzies, this came in the inbox. Now mighty zon took over createspace, I think this opens up more possibilities. Don't think I have heard of Ingram but I'll maybe give it a go once the U K is on the following list...... Can I order author copies? Yes! Right now, as we launch, author copies are only available in the US and Canada, but we're looking to expand that later

This is exciting, but ...
I was hoping it was a new version of Createspace, but it is not.
From what I have read, it is formatting from a word doc or epub file and sending the file to Ingram and Amazon. Don't know if we supply our own ISBN or they supply the ISBN like Createspace did.
What they have not told us yet, is if Ingram will do the prints in Melbourne for Australia after the beta testing, or if all print runs are done in US. If all printing is done in US, then Australia (and I expect Europe/UK) will not be able to purchase Proof Copies. If that is the case, I will continue to do POD printing on Amazon, and eventually get my series books up on Ingram Spark and pay fees.

As far as I recall, the I S B N's are optional. I think I only ever did I S B N's for a library deal in New Zealand and Australia. Got I S B N's in batches of ten in N Z for free. Not sure what you mean about fees as I assume (again I could be wrong on this) the D2D method will work same as the old createspace method worked with no money up front. Give D2D a bit more time to reveal all. They are fully aware of what's already out there and will offer something equally competitive. If I get more updates I'll post here. According to the mighty Zon, some winged messenger will descend on my doorstep tomorrow bearing my chiseled musings.

No fees via D2D getting POD file to Ingram Spark, which is good, and can use D2D ISBNs.
Ingram Spark charges fees for each change once print book files are processed directly at Ingram Spark, unless you have a coupon code. Or maybe the coupon code is only for uploading pdf book file the first time. And need your own ISBNs dealing directly with Ingram Spark.
So, D2D will be the same as Createspace if it gets up and working. And better than Createspace if POD books are uploaded to Ingram Spark.
But D2D needs to allow us to order proof copies before the pdf file goes live, like Amazon does NOT do into Australia, but Createspace did allow.
I hope D2D get the POD process working soon, because I will use it just to get into Ingram Spark, which is the "holy grail" of getting print books into brick and mortar bookstores. :-)

mail.google.com/mail/#inbox/FMfcgxwChmPGjQZlRGXRdGBSjkSPPqbZRather than depend on my dubious memory, anyone with specific questions for D2D including P O D, would be best served asking directly. I have always found them responsive and helpful. This below off their FAQ's. Does Draft2Digital provide ISBNs? We do! We'll automatically assign an ISBN to any book published through our system free of charge. Does a free ISBN give Draft2Digital any special control over my book? No. The ISBN recording agency will consider Draft2Digital the "publisher of record" for any ISBN we own, but that label does not give us any rights to your work. All of our digital stores will continue to show the publisher name you choose. Can I provide my own ISBN if I already have one? Absolutely So there you have it. Perhaps use the above link at the top of this post for their slant on marketing but be sure to register. If you do, post any responses here so we may all benefit. It should be interesting. Maybe this F A Q link will answer stuff. www.draft2digital.com/faq/
