At Boomer Cafe, ( www.boomercafe.com/) which offers news for Boomers on a variety of topics, also offers articles about and by new authors. I have enjoyed reading many of the articles. I also learn a bit more about writing, publishing, marketing, and technology.

I like this. Dixon Cragg was 80 when introduced and still wasn't killed off at 100 +. His wife Misty Rivers was about the same age and not even Craggy would argue with her. I had great feedback from all age groups and true the olds did appreciate people they could relate to. I'm a rickety old fart myself, but would probably be unconvincing writing about an elderly female main protagonist. Dressing up in stockings, suspenders and heels is as near as I get to immersing myself in the female P O V but when it comes to writing about it, I'll let the women do a much better job than I ever could.

Hola unclegarf:
Interesting comment. I want to know more.
Gotta say, I am a stickler about a few things and being able to find an author or book online is important to me. I just realized you don't have a signature on Smashwords Writers Forum. Have you published anything? I could not find a book with character Dixon Cragg on Smashwords or an internet search.
Are you still in the writing stage?
Another thing, I suggest to authors is make a blog or website even if it's just a picture and summary of your book with some contact info.
I have helped many authors create a blog and some of those blogs have helped readers or interested persons find the author. From my perspective, having a FB page is not enough.
Just my two cents.
But, glad you and others agree we need to see more "Boomers" as protagonists :-)

Try Amazon.com last flight for Craggy. Showing a price but it is free.
Dixon "Craggy" Cragg has 6 full ebooks in a series plus a box and a spin off called Deep Space Intelligence. No real intention of a series, I brilliantly called book one, Last Flight for Craggy. So obviously, the only thing I could call book 2 was, "another last flight for craggy", followed by "Craggy's final last flight" for book 3, etc. What can I say? It's a gift.
I split much of my stuff from smash to D2D cus I found the D2D process easier. I just a left a few freebies on smash for old times sake. Oddly, the Davron novella series still proves popular on smash and B and N. I still get anything up to 40 downloads per week on smash across all my stuff on there.
Anyone familiar with British comedy genius Sir David Jason (only fools and horses) was my inspiration for Craggy. I dream of him playing the part in a movie.
I actually had a paperback version done via createspace with a "letter" to him at the beginning and sent his agents a copy. Five years on I'm still waiting for a reply. On amazon . com it has 111 ratings / reviews of about 4.1 and about 120 on goodreads. After 6 books, I still get asked what happens next, even though Craggy was over 100 by the end of book 6. Gimmee a break! Yes, book 7 is half done and shelved for now. It will have to be damn good to be worth publishing. Maybe one day. New book Drifta, is close to the publishable state and should be out in a month or so. I'll probably put it on smash for smash readers only with world wide on d2d. Some new wallmart deal there.
I just get distracted with painting and now I am on a garden art project with a huge concrete birdbath thing with a dragon on it. As a mere lad of 65 I love all facets of creating and will have a go at anything. Hope that answers your questions.

I tried to insert a screen image of my Amazon search attempt for Dixon Cragg and I also tried to attach it, all without any results.
In other words, I can't find you or your books.

Dixon Cragg is a character, not a book. Plenty have found my stuff over the years. According to goodreads I have over a hundred titles out there but probably a bit of an exaggeration. Dunno. I never counted them. I don't put stuff on there, I let the readers do it. Gone are the days of writing three or four books a year. Not for lack of ideas, just my interests are in other directions. I think I even have a blog (whatever that is). Craggy made regular appearances in amazon's top 2000 freebies so I can't complain. I just don't take it seriously these days, instead putting a story together for its own challenges.
I even joined in a local writing group recently, went to one of the "meetings". The group had about 15 members. Three turned up at the meeting, me being one. The young woman running the group who had invited me along spent one of the two hours playing with her phone, obsessed with some troll on a site with her one and only book, put out about four years ago. Hey. Anyone putting a book together and getting it out there still has kudos from me. But when she goes on like some expert on how to be successful, I just think, "yeah, right. Whatever." She seemed surprised when I never bothered with the group after that. Some people seem to be more obsessed in doing all that social media stuff than actually writing. Whatever makes 'em happy.
