I've been using iWork Pages for a while. I want to publish my book at Smashwords. My file is nearly complete. The formatting is good. The ePub files look good. I don't have any experience with MS Word. I can export from Pages to a MS Word document. Is that exported file suitable for publishing at smashwords? If it will not work, I am looking for advice as to what I should do. I can submit an ePub but it looks like I will want to submit a MS Word Document so the book can be published in all the other formats. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Smashwords is accepting ePub now, albeit in beta format. See this Smashwords Forum post for information on uploading ePub files to Smashwords. ePub is the format shipped to other major retailers as it is the dominant format for majority of ereader devices nowadays. I don't know about other authors, but I only convert for ePub and PDF for my works. PDF only because I publish puzzles. As with any beta program you can expect errors. Validate your ePub file before upload and view it in any of the popular ePub readers or desktop ereaders before uploading to Smashwords. The Smashwords Direct page has all the information you likely will need to perform a successful upload.
