Sorry about title, wasn't sure how to describe.
My problem--I'm working on a book with news articles among the rest of the story. So, is there any way to have several block paragraphs (news articles) in an otherwise regularly indented paragraph book.

I'm sorry I don't recall where I saw it, but if I remember correctly, ebooks that have both forms of paragraphs get kicked out of the publishing cue for just that reason.
I had just that problem and I worked around it by adding italics to the paragraphs that I wished to differentiate (in my case, I had letters that people had written embedded in a story and I wished to differentiate them from the rest of the text).
There still might be a work-around that will work for you so you can have both. Keep looking and if you find it, please let me know as I'll have this problem in my next novel, once again.

If I add a line before and after will it get kicked back too?

You could use Italics for the news articles. That might provide enough of a hint to the reader.
