Has Amazon instantly removed any of your ebooks? They did that to me, the dorks.
Amazon and I don't agree on a few things regarding how to run a business. Yesterday Amazon again proved they have little regard for ebook authors when they instantly removed 5 of my ebooks and then sent me an email advising me they had removed my works.
They could have sent me a notice they were going to remove the 5 ebooks and give me some time to correct the problem or remove them. They could have behaved like they cared about ebook authors.
What was the problem with my ebooks? They were printable, or screen copyable, or could be viewed in a browser.
Heaven help the poor reader who might want to actually print something out from an ebook, or screen capture something to print out, or buy an ebook that could be opened in a browser.
Here is a copy of the email from Amazon:
Hello,
During a quality assurance review of your KDP catalog we found that the following book(s) you have published are intended to be interactive but require additional resources aside from a Kindle device or Kindle application (phone/Mac/PC). The game or app experience must work entirely inside the Kindle reader, without the use of the browser or manual work such as a copy machine or screen capture program. (Bold type added by Ted) As a result, the following books have been removed from sale in the Kindle store.
Star Sudoku Puzzles. Volume 1. (ASIN: B008D5AV9O)
Alphabet Sudoku Puzzles Multi-lingual Edition (ASIN: B009AHSZGA)
Star Sudoku Puzzles. Volume 2. (ASIN: B009FHSZ88)
Spanish Word Search Puzzles (Spanish Edition) (ASIN: B0099A2RY4)
German Word Search Puzzles (German Edition) (ASIN: B009AFYJWQ)
If you are interested in providing games or other interactive content, please consider applying for our Kindle Active Content program: kdk.amazon.com/gp/vendor/kindlepubs/kdk/gateway
If you have any questions regarding our quality assurance review process, please write to kdp-quality@amazon.com.
Best regards,

Well, the problem is the books weren't meant to be interactive as stated quite clearly in their descriptions. The ebooks were meant to be printed out, pages screen captured, or viewed in a browser so a reader could print them out.
Oh, and they cost 1/3 to 1/4 the price of interactive apps.
Amazon never was a high seller for any of my puzzle ebooks, but my puzzle ebooks were starting to move up the game popularity rankings on Amazon.
Thanks, Amazon, for once again helping authors help you make money.
