To date, I've got a 8 copies of my book "in libraries". I'm confused about what this means. Does this mean it is in 8 libraries, or 8 library ebook systems for multiple libraries, or something else completely? Some general explanation about this distribution channel would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I believe that it means that 8 Smashwords readers have added your book into their personal libraries. It doesn't necessarily mean that they've purchased it (though they may have!), but it does mean that they at least liked the sample enough to want to bookmark it to read later. If the book is a freebie, then they probably have read it and decided that they wanted to bookmark it (by placing it in their library) so that they can easily find it again. Either way...it is a thumbs up for you!

Thanks Anita. It's clear I had no idea, as I thought this category meant books that libraries downloaded (as in the public library).

It better not mean that! My erotica resides in an awful lot of libraries... Lol!
