I published a new version of my book, complete with new cover, to Smashwords.
The new cover appeared yesterday morning at Barnes & Noble, but when I click on it, the text contents haven't been changed and still show the old cover within.
Is there a lag from the cover change in the database to the update of the contents? Should I be concerned and contact anyone - or wait a few days yet?

You'll have to wait. When an author uploads a new version it has to be vetted again for Premium Distribution.

Ted, it was already approved for Premium Distribution and made its way back to Barnes and Noble. The only change Barnes and Noble made was to show the new cover when the book is searched, but when you "read instantly," it's still showing the previous cover and contents.
I'm concerned that B&N only changed the cover and won't make the interior changes. Do you have any experience with this - or any thoughts?

Once a new version of a work has been vetted and passed along to Premium retailers the product at the retailers 'should' contain current content. If your updated version is fine at Kobo, Apple, Diesel, etc, then it could be a problem with B&N. If content hasn't changed by today then use the Smashwords support system to alert them to problem. Include link on B&N, or elsewhere, to your work and explain both cover and content were updated but only cover updated on B&N.

Thank you, Ted. That's what I was looking for. I didn't know if I should take it to B&N directly (so difficult!), or if Smashwords would be of assistance. I'll double-check other outlets to be sure I'm not taking anyone's time unnecessarily. Thanks!
