Anyone else seeing an unusual delay in sales reports from Barnes and Noble to Smashwords? They usually update their sales reports every two weeks, sometimes it's been a month but that's unusual. Until now - my sales at Barnes and Noble hasn't been updated since May 31! That's close to two months now. Has anyone been updated more recently, or is this across the board? And does anyone have an explanation? It's frustrating to me because Barnes and Noble is my biggest sales venue and I can't really track what's going on over there.

I feel your pain... Mine haven't updated since May 31st either. I was wondering about the delay and I find myself checking a few times each day to see if they've updated. I probably seem a bit obsessive about checking, but I'm trying to track my sales to see what types of marketing actually work.
I'm newish to Smashwords, so I don't really know which sales venues are the best performers. It could be that I'm waiting for nothing, but I have had some sales on B&N in prior months.

Barnes & Noble is in Chapter 11 and has been for some time. As such B&N is subject to the oversight and jurisdiction of the court.
The sales page on your Dashboard has a column "Your Smashwords Balance Adjusted For Retailer Sales Through" May 31, 2012 for B&N.
All things considered, 90 days is as good as cash under Chapter 11. The fact that their last report was May 31 isn't all that bad.
Microsoft pledged $602 million back in May for the B&N digital book business. If MS figures B&N good for a couple of bucks then I wouldn't sweat the small stuff in the ebook world.

Well, it's not small stuff to me. I've sold about 2000 books on Barnes and Noble (that I know of!), and probably less than 200 on every other ebook sales platform put together. They're my tent pole. If Amazon sales would take off, maybe I'd relax. But right now B&N is almost the entirety of my sales, so when they go quiet for seven weeks, I tend to fret. I know books are selling based on ranking, but how many is anybody's guess.

I'm not worrying about B&N absconding with the funds. I just want to update my tracking chart so that I can analyze the data. I'm a bit of a bean counter/nerd at heart!

How do you go about finding reports from B&N (and other retailers)? This has always been a mystery to me. It's probably written somewhere but I missed it during a senior moment. I just received my pay report from SW for 2Q, and was surprised. There were no sales listed on my dashboard for that period, yet I received quite a hefty sum in Paypal. It must be from B&N or other retailers. How can I find reports from retailers other than SW? Thanks in advance.

Sully, click on the sales report link on the left side of your Dashboard page. When sales page opens, click on 2012. You can also use the Quarterly Report (beta) output for reviewing sales. Just click on it too.
