If you thought that this post was going to be about the real reason behind the American Independence Day, you were mistaken! ;D
I am noticing a surge in people buying/downloading erotica today. Admittedly, it is mostly the titles that I am offering for free as part of the July Promotion, but I couldn't help but notice the bump in interest! I wonder if they are mostly US sales?

I don't know if reason is the 4th of July or not, but I've noticed a little burp in sales today too and I haven't put any books in the July sale event yet.

Are you suggesting that this isn't an erotica thing or are you a closeted writer of this genre? Actually, I'm thinking that the storms in the mid-Atlantic states may be one cause for the bump in sales. With so many folks without power, a Kindle that has a built in connection to the internet might be the only entertainment option!

Maybe. I'm looking forward to speedier sales updates from Smashwords partners.

Another reason may be the extended heat wave. My theory is that the FREE July promo is driving readers to check out the non-promo catalog.
