I also thinned down my collection of books when I had my last move. But, I kept all the SciFi and Fantasy and Mystery (now called thriller or adventure) books. And my small collection of western books. And most of my reference books. Even though I have some ebooks, I still mostly read print books. :-)

I go through a periodic trawl of all my books, paring down to those I know I would want to read again.
