Hi, I want to edit an old eBook that I published last year. It's on the Premium list and has done better than all my other books, however I've added new photos and redone parts of it.
If I do go through the long process of waiting to be accepted for Premium status, will my old eBook still be available for sale for all the distributors? I'd hate to think I would lose sales for about two weeks or even longer if it needed modifications. I'm not referring to the Smashwords store (which has sold only a handful of copies), but for all the distributors such as Apple, etc.
Thanks for any help.

The FAQ's on your Smashwords dashboard has the answer:
The Smashwords Dashboard: How to Make Changes to Your Smashwords Book.
How do I upload a new version of my book?
If you want to replace a previously published book with a new version, go to your Smashwords Dashboard, and if beside the title of your book (in the "Status" column) it reads "publish" then click publish, and that will put your original version back into the system. This is a necessary step before you can upload the new version. (Note by Ted: this is only necessary IF it reads 'publish'. If the word in brackets under the Status column reads (unpublish) then do the following.
Next, within the same Dashboard screen, click "upload a new version" then scroll down the page and click "Continue", then click the "Browse" button to locate the new file on your desktop. Once you locate it, double click on it in the browse window to select it. Then just click "Upload" and then wait a couple minutes while it uploads your new manuscript. NEVER NEVER return to the original Publish screen to re-enter and re-load all your book information.

Thanks for replying, Ted. However, my book says "published" (not "publish") and the only thing that's clickable is "unpublish." Shouldn't I just click on "upload a new version?" I also would like to redo the description on the Smashwords web page. Thanks, again! I'm finally getting excited about Smashwords. After a year I'm shocked to see my books finally taking off!

Yes, click on the "upload new version". You can change the description and other matter by clicking the 'settings' link.

The author of a recently published ebook also asked me to do some edits.
Will re-uploading the source file put the book back in "review" status for the Premium Catalog?
Also, I noticed that when I download the PDF version, Smashwords gives me the option to go to the "earlier versions" that I uploaded, which were test files. Can other people, who aren't logged into the author account, get these earlier versions? If they can, how do I hide/delete them?

This is to ensure any changes meet the standards set by Smashwords and its Premium Distribution retailers. Only authors/publishers may see 'test files'. Potential purchasers only view latest work. Authors/publishers have access to earlier versions in all formats, not just PDF.

So, if I buy your book today and you upload a new version tomorrow, I'd then get the option of downloading the version that was current today, and the version you upload tomorrow. I wouldn't see any earlier versions.
