Review of The Enigmatic Mr. Dawsley by Michael Bergquist
I’m not sure I took from this book what the author intended. I can say that I did finish the whole thing, which is more than I say for many books. It was a quick read and entertaining enough, but I couldn’t take is seriously. I believe this book is what would be produced if H. G. Wells and Roald Dahl got together, slammed back too many drinks, and collaborated on a story. I think the reader is supposed to care greatly for the characters and absorb great wisdom and feeling for the characters. I didn’t. Instead, I was amused at their antics and considered them likable fools. If you want a quick read to pass some time, this is good.
