Hi all I really appreciate this opportunity to share the first book, a free publication, in the series Fast Tracks to Heritage Craft. This series will consider lost or disappearing trades and tradecraft in the UK. The Coracle: One Man in a Tub is our 'first toe in the water', er, so to speak: My introduction to the coracle was not the most promising, I grant you, just a joke email from a bored colleague. But, apparently, it was all I needed. Because, it’s not just racing down a river in a glorified snow sled, shield, or basket, but a journey through such wild territories as Welsh Indians, cadavers, poaching, and sheep wrasslin’, just to name a few. Please find the book at www.smashwords.com/books/view/247975 . We would love to have your feedback! Thanks!

I downloaded The Coracle a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. I've only now found time to comment.
The book is well written and contains lots of history on the Coracle, and pictures which enhance the story. I found it a quick and fascinating read. Well done.
Using Adobe Digital Editions I found a lot of white space and one or two blank pages, perhaps from having page breaks. That's something to look out for in your next work.

Thanks, Ted. I really appreciate the comments, and especially the feedback on formatting.
I have to admit that I am still getting used to formatting. I didn't have any problem with the Meat Grinder, but I have been finding these annoying issues from format to format. I think I went back and forced some pagebreaks because the text was doing funny things otherwise. I had assumed that to a certain extent some of these problems you just have to live with given the multiple formats.
But what you describe is pretty major. This may not be the appropriate thread, but is there somewhere on the board where formatting and the problems experienced from format to format have been discussed? Are these the kinds of problems that formatting in ePub from the start would resolve?
Thanks again, Linda

.... is there somewhere on the board where formatting and the problems experienced from format to format have been discussed? Are these the kinds of problems that formatting in ePub from the start would resolve? Thanks again, Linda We have the Editing and Conversion forums for discussing problems/solutions in those two areas. Use the search function (improved in the forthcoming upgrade) to find Threads containing words you seek. For example, using a work like 'format', without the single quote marks, will return all Threads contain that word. Place a check mark beside the Boards you want to search, the number of days to search, and click the Search button at the bottom. If there are no returns, try a different word or words or phrase(be sure to use the drop-down list to select 'Match whole phrase' instead of the default 'Match all words'). If no success after that, then post your question in the Editing or Conversion board which most closely matches your question.
