Nice work, Chris. And doesn't Natalie look beautiful. My pallet is my garden at the moment and I'm having a go at lemon trees from pips from a youtube video. Day one so no lemons just yet! Maybe next week.

Gary, thanks for that video link. I watched it and think it is very clever. Must try it in spring with the seeds of my neighbour's lemons. :-)

Had a wee break from things creative, painting and writing. Urgent attention in the garden followed by the Euros football left no time for it. I'll soon be back into the writing with fresh eyes. In the meantime, still getting a steady readership on 'smash' with the titles I left on there for old times sake. But it amazes me how my Davron serial (not series) is continuously read. Years old but still gets interest. There are ten in serial, each about 10k words each. The trick to a serial is that 'cliff edge climax' for each one. It wouldn't work if there was a price on it with only 10 k words each installment but as a feebie it brings me readers. Yes, it could be cobbled together as a couple of books, but I'll leave it as is. So if you have a potential project bubbling away, why not try the serial way? For me I'll be back in harness next week on my new book with renewed vigor and ideas, lubricated by beer. Series are def. the way to go. A buddy had like 30 or 40 sales in one day recently where a couple folks bought his entire series which he bundles.

Nice work, Chris. And doesn't Natalie look beautiful... Thanks, Gary. She sure does. I have selected a nice Maureen O'Sullivan I'm going to colorize next. She's my favorite Jane.

Just a lemon update. No, not one of books. Day 9 of my lemon tree efforts. The lemon I took the pips from was on the small size, and I only got three. Of the three, one is showing a shoot. I've an egg well beyond its 'use by date' to plant it in in about four days time. I'll let you know when I get my first lemon.

I heard that it takes 7 years from seed planting to picking lemons. That is, just dropping the seed in the ground, not peeling the skin, and placing in wet paper until it shoots. :-) It took 7 years for my mandarin tree (grown from seed) to produce its first crop. Then nothing for 2 years. I live in hope for this year. :-) However, my lime tree produced fruit since I bought it in a pot. I think it was grafted onto a different citrus root base, which could be the reason. Good luck with the other two shooting soon.

Nice work, Chris. And doesn't Natalie look beautiful. Maureen O'Sullivan, Gary. Played opposite Johnny Weismuller in six Tarzan films. To my knowledge, this photo hasn't been colorized before, unless some bloke did it and didn't publish it. By the way, if you wonder how I can say that, visit this site. It's a reverse image look-up site. Without further ado, here's Maureen. And the original B&W photo for comparison.

As I wait while the warehouse is being readied for lemonade production, I thought I would try another fruit. Here's one for cherries .

Just a follow up to the lemon experiment. The lemon I took the pips from was quite small, and of the three pips, only one showed promise. I left about ten days and although the thing was 'trying', it wasn't really encouraging. Then I noticed a further outer layer to remove, even though I had done this in the beginning. This last layer slipped off easily and back in the wet tissue it went and off it went, sprouting happily. So, tomorrow it gets planted in its egg shell. Gotta go. We've a management production meeting to decide on the design of the lemonade bottle labels.

pip 1 is egg bound and its little green head poking its way out. 4 siblings hatching away. Must buy more lemons!

Signs of life in my new pips. The excitement is palpable. The other odd thing today, apart from the puncture on my e - bike, is the fact somebody bought with actual cash, 2, 3 and 4 of the Craggy books in one hit. They could have bought the complete works for less, but who am I to moan. Without readers there is no point to writers. I know plenty of folk lap up my freebies which is nice, but a few actual £££ also helps. My Davron serial also goes on and on, as does my Ferret detective series. I get some mild satisfaction that somebody somewhere is reading me. It gives me a sense of continuity once I've gone that somebody will download a Weston and hopefully enjoy it. I've got the burning conviction that I'll be really rich when I'm dead. Do you think they have an ATM up there??

It sure does feel good to get some chaching for your work. Especially if it's followed up with some good feedback. Recently received a nice review on my horror tale on both Amazon and Goodreads. That was sure nice. And recently received a couple hundred US for a painting. That was very nice indeed. Feels odd that I make more on paintings that my writings. I bet I haven't made that much in book sales if I added them all together since I started and hit it with a 1.5X multiplier.

Whatever works I say, Chris. As I wait for the writing app in my head to kick back in I'm finally doing the minor corrections of my paintings that have annoyed me long enough. Working on the last one. Then onto a half finished painting of a reclining purple nude woman on a rocky shore in moonlight, whose hair is part of the white foam. The great thing of being creatives is that we can do all kinds of things. Like 'Craggy', we are wired a bit differently. It takes my mind off the imminent arrival of a senior Staffy, a 9 yo rescue, called Buttercup who will be called Bella by me. That should be next week so I'm looking forward to that. Just go to the link to see this gorgeous girl who will soon have the best life I can give her. www.seniorstaffyclub.co.uk/buttercup/

I have a series with 11 books on Amazon, and every now and then, I'll get someone buying the whole batch. On one hand, I'm elated for the sale, but on another hand, I almost cringe at how much of an investment it is for someone jumping into the series at this point.
