So. Another mad day in C virus world. A haircut to last four months. Just pass the polish and mind the glare. Then a trip around one of our biggest supermarket store where I saw man's indifference to man first hand. Stripped shelves. Just a bunch of sad faced oldies grubbing around for something to eat. Greedy, selfish ****** had scooped up all they could, even buying extra freezers to put their stash with no regard for the vulnerable. Even the dog food gone. Disgusting way to behave. 'I'm ok. to hell with everyone else'. Turns out my little corner shop was better stocked and they hadn't hiked up the prices to exploit the situation. A store worth supporting. I can't do online shopping because no delivery slots due to high demand. This means people like me who are vulnerable have no choice but to come out of hibernation or starve. I know I could do with losing weight but a starvation diet is a bit much. A good job we have strict gun control otherwise, well, ....!

In my little enclave there are quite a few using a service called Better Meals. The meals aren't 5-star but they have an extensive menu and meals are designed to provide the nutrients you need. And they are cheap, with free delivery and delivery person will even load your freezer for you if you are physically unable to do so.
With stores being bombed by idiots overloading their carts this Better Meals works for me. Maybe there is something similar in other countries.

Same problems here, too. Shops sold out of freezers. Obviously to store all the hoarded groceries, meat, etc. I purchase a side of beef every year, this year being no different. :-) And there are plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit in our grocery store. It is all the processed foods (long shelf life), rice, pasta, tinned foods, and of course toilet paper and hand cleaner shelves that are empty. And I have been making my own bread for almost 50 years, so I purchase good bread flour all the time. Now it has also sold out. Hopefully there will be more on the shelves when my supply runs out. :-) I decided if I have to go to the supermarkets for more supplies I will be wearing my Respirator Kit, even though I will look like a dork. It does stop me breathing in chemicals, dust, spores, petrol fumes, etc. so might stop the virus before it gets to my lungs. www.bunnings.com.au/protector-respirator-kit_p5822368Take care, everyone.

Yeah, these times really teach you about the dietary and consumer habits of the average citizen. I drink soy milk everyday. Now, it is difficult to find, as it is considered 'long life.'

Life, such as it is, carries on. Virtual learning for the uni, me in the spare room pushing the paint around. Tomorrow, it is all about Drifta's Quest 2. A second cup of tea after walking staffy Sally, then a crack of the knuckles and away I go. Always a glass half full sort of bloke, at least people might decide to download a book or three and lose themselves into the world of fantasy to escape the morbid reality of the here and now. Time now for we creatives to entertain the world and at least for a short while, use our incarcerations to do something positive. By the power of our minds and imaginations we can explore all aspects of humanity. Do your bit. Create, entertain and above all, pass on a positive message for all of us. Doom and gloom we have. Time now to spread the love and happiness.

Time now to spread the love and happiness. These are strange times, Gary! Finally got my Hunter out...now time to get back on the final edits of my Banshee novel. Keep getting sidetracked painting and stuff! Hunter on AmazonHunter on SmashAnyone on the forum who wish to give it a read, PM me and I'll send you a Smash coupon. It's a bizarre tale. And a love story. It's set in the Pleistocene. But it's also scyfy. I don't know what it is!

I was wondering if getting your hunter out was a euphemism for something, but I expect not. So. Getting my head into writers mode with the new book, but not quite there yet. It's the trickle before the flood. Never a better time to hunker down and do some serious writing. It really is a state of mind, still crashing the gears and finding too many road blocks. Experience has taught me these are just signposts along the way. Get the dodgy satnav out and batter the way through this. As the world hits the reset button, I'll dodge what I can and get creative. Lucky to be blessed that way. And you? Having fun yet?

New book chugging along at a steady pace, making it up as I go along as usual. Now. I don't check my stuff on smash too often these days as they are all freebies. That said, I thought I'd take a peek during a little break and I notice a good old spike on the 22nd. Most stuff off the shelf. I suspect the dreaded C virus has folk checking stuff out. Had any spikes in the last few days? Perhaps I'll get a spike in the paid stuff on Zon. I can but hope.

Thinking of doing a promotion on Amazon, might help. Lot of work tied up in this one, painting and all, so hoping to see that looked-for spike.

My author buddies Gil Stack and Will Hahn claim Audio Books is where the spikes are occurring, with sales trending 60/40 over paperback & ebook sales in some cases. We need to get our books narrated there, Gary. If I didn't sound like such a dad-burn hick, I'd narrate my own tales. As it is, I might pursue that sometime down the road.

I believe my pen-pal buddy Will is on Findaway. He has really ramped up his narrations of late. Check out a sample of him on Zon. Just click the Audio Sample button beneath the cover.

I've been given the nod I'm through my first year of uni. I suspect its more about bums on seats, but I'll play along. I might just keep going until I get a PhD just to annoy them. Right now I'm torn between painting and writing. Type with right hand paint with left?? A neighbour rang my bell and asked if I need shopping. Nice of her. I really appreciate this but it is a stark reminder of my advancing years like when I'm on the bus and people make way for me. All this takes some adjusting too. Head is still doing the tango, body does a slow waltz. Neighbour had put an old painting frame she no longer needed on my doorstep. Not the usual size I use but I used it for some experimental work. So today when she offered help, I showed her the resulting picture which she liked which I then gave her. I suppose it will be worth a fortune when I'm dead. Whats the betting I get an ebook best seller the same way? Fortunately I believe in reincarnation.
