Hi, Ria. The potters wheel didn't happen today but should be sorted soon. HOWEVER! I had a couple of 'deep and meaningful' conversations about how to get what I want from the course. That was really enlightening. It turns out I'm a representational artist with little interest in conceptional art. I sort of knew that, but hadn't really seen the significance of it in the Uni course. All our lecturers had their art training based on the conceptional art of the mid to late 20th century. That's a potential roadblock for me from the get go. Advice given is to approach the most likely lecturer with a plan. Not to just say 'I want to do good old fashioned art because I like it...' but to 'use my writers head' to put a convincing plan together. My writers head is thinking, the plan to supported progress should be to take the elements of renaissance, right through to pre raphaelite with a smattering of impressionism to create my own defined, unique style. I know this is what should be an entirely unnecessary waltz, but if it gets me what I want, I'll do the bloody Tango.
(feel free to steal that last line if you're desperate)
