I'll have to remember to use humour in my next promotion. After all, humour seems to be the main selling point of Super Bowl game ads and those ads don't come cheap. Save

I suppose what you are promoting might make a bit of a difference...

OK. We all love a five star review. Makes our day. And I was pleased to get the one below for Craggy 1, making it review number 110 on Zon.com for this literary gem. But I'm a cynical S O B so out of curiosity I clicked on the reviewers name. Following the one for Craggy are others from this reviewer. Hmm. All five stars by the way. Sort of takes the shine off things. Gotta smile though.

OK. We all love a five star review. Makes our day... I'm tickled with 4s! I gave you a five on your poetry because I thoroughly enjoyed each one. Also, to have been out since 2012 I felt it was about time that thing received a review of some sort. I had the pdf on my phone, and down at a bud's house having a pint (or three) I read him some of them. He loved it. He's a great poet, wish he'd write more.

rule of thumb is one review per 300 hundred reads. This means majority of my stuff which goes unread (sigh) will never be reviewed. The poems were something written during a period in my life which was in depression and alcoholic haze. I'm now not depressed and my haze is much reduced. I suspect some of my deeper stuff was produced during those times in the doldrums. It was just a tongue in cheek thing with my posting those reviews, nothing derogatory intended. One review of my erotic book was identical to another 20 similar books by the same reader. Whatever floats his boat. When I can drag myself away from my easel, I'll revisit one of my shelved books which is sci fi / horror and will try to pepper it with some fun stuff. The best horrors have a few laughs in them. Y'know, if we let the world drag us down, we wouldn't bother getting out of bed in the morning. A common thread through the Craggy reviews is that they are fun. People want and need cheering up. It's worth thinking about that when we write.

Gosh my rule of thumb is, never say never. I'm grateful that readers even find my books and take a peek. I go to the stats page a lot to see how many people check out my books. When I least expect it- BOOM! I've made a sale. Life is good! Haha..

Ain't that the truth! It's like pulling teeth. The market is so saturated, and I suck at marketing. I finally built a website with hopes to draw some search results, but no idea if it works. The hits come in slowwww. That's a great job repurposing that cartoon!
