I just published a book on Smashwords. No AutoVetter errors, but when I look at the .epub version with Adobe Digital Editions, there is a page break on the title page between the title and subtitle of the book. The title and subtitle are in a paragraph style that is based on the Normal style, as recommended in the Smashwords Style Guide. I even tried using the Normal paragraph style for the title and subtitle, but the page break won't go away.
The title page looks right when viewed in HTML.
Any thoughts or suggestions for me?
Thanks!

I don't use ADE for testing epubs. I use Azardi or Calibre. I usually use Calibre first, and in fact test my book in Calibre first before uploading to Smashwords or Amazon. Get Calibre here.

Thank you, Ted - I downloaded Calibre and I can tell it's going to be useful. Unfortunately the page still breaks after the book title. Any more ideas for me?

Sounds like MSWord has gone goofy, if there never was a page break before. You'll have to try the nuclear approach to get rid of any weird MSWord code. Select all text/images in document, copy to Notepad, start a new MSWord doc, copy all text/image from Notepad and paste in new MSWord doc.
Note: copying images doesn't always properly place image in MSWord doc for conversion. To be safe it is best to Insert images into new MSWord doc where copied images are. Pain in the rump, but that's MSWord.

Thanks very much for your help, Ted. I fixed the problem by changing the title and subtitle from 14 point font to 12 point font. I don't understand why 14-pt wouldn't work, but I'm happy.

That is truly weird. Changing font size shouldn't have created/deleted a page break.
