I want the font of my book to be Garamond, and the Word document I upload is in Garamond. After conversion, it gets changed to Times New Roman, in the epub and pdf versions at least. I'm not getting any autovetter errors.
The document I'm uploading is all Garamond 12pt with no odd characters. The Smashwords style guide lists Garamond as one of the fonts you should use.
Is there something I'm doing wrong that's making it change to Times New Roman?
Thanks

Did you embed the Garamond, or make it your default font? Check your Word Options under Saving and see if the embed font is ticked. This might help with the pdf option but not sure if it will help with the meatgrinder. Note that embedding the font will increase the word document file size. You'd need to embed fonts if you're doing a Createspace paperback.
Did you use styles to create the document? If so, check the style's font by having a look under 'modify style' and if it says Times New Roman (even though you applied Garamond throughout) then that is the source of your problem. Which version of Word are you using?
Note that most ereaders, tablets and kindles have a change-font/personalize choice, so it doesn't really matter what font the original is in!
