Hi. I'm a UK-based author with a set of 10 brand new unused ISBN numbers (ISBN-13s) issued by Nielsen. I've successfully uploaded my book, but can not get the ISBN Manager to recognise the ISBN numbers (without hyphens / with hyphens in all the right places). Nielsen have confirmed no problems their end. It's now been 9 days of failed attempts. The book is pending review which it won't pass without the ISBN, and it hasn't been distributed anywhere. I know there's a backlog, but the one reply from Smashwords was to suggest I used the free ISBN which would list Smashwords as publisher. As the option is offered to use the ISBNs I have already bought and have my own company as publisher, I'd prefer to find out what I am doing wrong and go for that. Has anyone had any similar problems?? Is it to do with listing myself as publisher? Or being in the UK?? Thanks

Sorted! Posting my own solution in case anyone ever has a similar problem. The ISBN manager rejected the numbers when they were copied and pasted (without gaps! without frames!), and worked fine when they were just typed in. Strange but true.

That is strange, as I just copy and paste the 13 numbers without any gaps or hyphens and hadn't had a problem. I'll keep your solution in mind for my next ebook if I have a problem. Thanks.
