Sent Julie the new blurb. These things don't seem to get any easier. Delisting the original all over the place before re-publishing with the new one. With a lot of luck I'll be making a lot of people cry with the new one. I'll buy Julie a pint when I get down to OZ.

The dastardly deed is done! With all the stealth of some shadow lurking villain, the new version of the ebook is about to shake the literary world by storm. Maybe trying to sneak it under the radar of the mighty Zon through D2D, as the old paperback version remains stubbornly for sale, will be my undoing. Fingers crossed. If I can decode the mysteries of the createspace / Zon I intend to either replace it completely with the new version or at least upload it into the original. As a master of caution to wind throwing, I can only try.

Gotta love being an Indie. To be to able self-publish our books to the world with minimum fuss in little over a day. My new old ebook is now global The new version is so more polished than that first effort all those years ago. It is out on Zon complete with the look inside feature and I have added it to my profile / catalog. The odd thing for me is the Barnes and Noble version which has the new book and cover but retains a load of nice reviews from the old version. Shush! I'll not tell them. For now I'll forget about writing, concentrating on painting and sculpture until the new year. I've actually started some surreal "bowl of fruit " sculpture with square fruit. I know. And I hardly drink at all these days. I digress. Is republishing a rewrite worth doing? Time will tell. Julie wants a painting. I do love a challenge.

My devious plan to take the literary world by storm is working! Yes, I actually sold a copy. Gotta go and order my electric E-type Jag.

You should consider getting an Imagur account and sharing the occasional painting, Gary. We'd love to see. Couple of my latest, a Black Lotus, and Tarzan Rescues the Moon (one of ERB's tales about adolescent Tarzan).

Thanks, Chris. I've often wanted to post pix on here but can never see any easy way to do it. Does Imagur do it and is it free? I'll look into into it. Excellent original work, Chris. What medium do you use? One of the elements of the course I'm going on is graphic design so I'll be doing loads of covers for my books. Julies' painting is coming along nicely,(acrylics with oil touches) pushing my dubious abilities to the max. Not sure it is what she was thinking but I like it. I just need more walls.

Gary, Yes, Imagur is free. You upload your image, copy its URL address, and utilize the image inserter button above to plop it in your post. Thanks for the comments on the paintings! I paint in oils. I've been tentatively planning a poetry book (maybe late this year, maybe in Spring) and painting the cover for it. I've used GIMP in the past to make covers (except those for my Tales of the Tomahawk which I had done professionally). For this poetry book I thought it might be a fun side project to also paint the cover. We'll see how it goes. I understand about pushing your abilities to the max. Seems like the images in my head are typically a lot easier to imagine than they are to get on canvas.

Ok. Thanks, Chris. Dragon Princess was my third sculpture with air-dried clay. Dragons head is about the size of a large hens egg so imagine how small the teeth are which are best seen on the unpainted version. I really push the limits of this material. Among other things, it has three of those wire coat hangers inside to support neck and wings. Darned thing weighs a ton. Princess would stand about 7" tall. Mona Lisa and Girl with the pearl earring copied from pix off the net. Not quite got the nose on Mona. By copying the masters I have to try to get into the 'styles' of the individual artist. The Arianna Grande was painted shortly after the Manchester massacre but from an earlier studio photo. I created a sadder expression because of the incident and added the little pendant. Mona and Pearl are about 36 " x 24 " so yes, I am running out of room. I am rubbish at drawing so I don't bother, a few deft strokes for a rough outline then I just go for it. Generally I use acrylics on canvas to nut out the basic picture followed by oil for details once dry. Julie's painting is coming along nicely, but I have given myself some 'interesting' technical challenges pushing my boundaries. I hope it will be one of those paintings that make folk look for deeper meanings.

Gary, I love the dragon. :-)
I also did a painting of the Girl with Pearl Earring. I love that painting. And I did the Man in Red Turban. I assume you know that one, too. :-) Both are hanging in my dining room. :-)
I need to look into Imagur. :-)

Thanks, DJ The dragon takes center stage on my coffee table. I'll take a look at the turban. Really pleased I took on Julie's painting, because it explores new challenges for me. I believe each piece of writing, each painting and sculpture (or whatever floats your boat) should take you out of your comfort zone. Otherwise, what's the point? Creatives must embrace each new project building on what they have done before

I believe each piece of writing, each painting and sculpture (or whatever floats your boat) should take you out of your comfort zone. Otherwise, what's the point? Creatives must embrace each new project building on what they have done before.. Couldn't have stated it better myself. I'm working on a painting right now where the background came out so powerfully that the guys I've shown it to immediately shot down my ideas for the foreground. No matter; I'm forging ahead with it anyway. But, their wails at 'ruining' the painting caused me to pause, and my original idea--although unchanged--is morphing. I think my original idea is sound, but not the approach. I'm hoping to get back to it soon. My weekend is booked full with a project where I have to tear the wheels off the front of my car down to the power train and replace bearing hubs. Not fun, Gary. I'd rather be painting on this sienna-colored sky painting any day.

This is the one I've been stuck on. The snowy area on the left I plan on putting a rocky outcropping with a cave, then scattered stone and maybe a fallen tree. We'll see how it goes when I get time to get back on it.

Less is sometimes more. I'd consider a subtle sunburst in the top right corner giving another dimension of shadows and reflection on the mountains below. That will break up the sky. Love the middle third.
