www.booktrack.com/home#our-servicesI've always wanted to turn my books into audio books, but never had the money. Years ago, back in my New Zealand days, came across this Kiwi venture called Booktracks (bt). ebooks with background music and sounds. They have some serious backing, but itnever quite took off. I put a few of my books and stories on there, using the bt tools to add the sounds from their library. Car doors slamming, animals, machines and spaceships. That sort of thing. Not sure what happened to my books on there these days, but I as wondering if bt was still around. It seems to be the case. Now I have only just rediscovered this transforming company so I don't have the answers, such as how much does it cost to create an audio book. Just dive in and explore and see where it takes you. Just be assured they are a worthwhile and transparent outfit with genuine intentions of developing this innovative concept. I have sent a message to them to make sure they really are still in business and I'll post any response A S A P. As always, buyer beware.

I might have missed the information page on using bt tools yourself on your own audio book without having bt do all the work. It looked to me like you send your audio book to them and they work with you creating the soundtrack. Is that right?

Yep, they do the studio work for a fee. They give the impression of offering a more cost effective way. I'll be exploring it all further in due course. I'm just spreading the word for others to do likewise. Best ask them, not me. I'm awaiting an email from them soon which I'll post here if everything is up and running with bt.

I remember you telling us about them before. Good to hear they are still at it. Are they a distribution platform as well?

Ah, ok. I see they are an audio-sharing tool, but don't do distribution.

I hope they ARE in fact still going so I haven't misled folk. Pulled up the site which was, apparently, still working a month or so ago, and sent a message on the site. Two messages in fact. As of this moment no reply. Maybe others are having better luck than I am???

I really don't know what is going on with booktrack. I have sent three contact emails via their website and got nothing back. The site seems to be 'live' but for some reason, nothing coming back from them. Anybody having more luck than I am??

I remember they were good with response last time you dealt with them. Maybe they have more customers now, so not so quick? It's been a couple of weeks now?

Dunno what's going on. I have suggested they at least put out an auto response saying they will reply later. They need to do something otherwise people will soon dismiss them. I would love to turn some of my stuff into audio books, and a more affordable platform will help me with that. Time will tell.

It looks like they only have an email reply form under their Contact link, or their Connect links at the bottom of their Home page for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They have got to have a faster response time as suggested.

I am interested in why you want to do this with your books. Do you really think it will add value?

Audio books?? The best way to go these days. If you mean the booktrack that were ebooks with sound affects, then been there, done that. B T only do audiobooks now with soundtracks to go with them. Have a listen to one of their sample books, such as the classic Frankenstein. I just wish I could connect with B T to see about costs. Grrrr! www.booktrack.com/home#our-services

Hot off the press!!! Booktrack DO apparently exist and have actually got back to me after another go at them. I have asked for some typical ballpark production costs and if they have retail affiliates or that we do our own post production. I'll let you know.

still waiting from the 23rd for a reply from BT. (for my actual question after their previous response) Something not right at their end. I've had physical mail crossing the globe quicker than this. Doesn't reflect well on B T.
