Hola Ted, thanks for this info. I had recently been wondering about interactive books.

I'm currently working on a project which can't make up it's mind on whether it's an interactive book or a game. It uses HTML so in theory should be able to create an ebook. However it uses some Javascript which may limit any ebook to EPUB3. (Goodbye Amazon) I'm fleshing the project out in Twine but if it becomes a game will probably move to Ren'Py If you've never heard of either then Twine is at twinery.org/ with a good introductory tutorial at www.adamhammond.com/twineguide/#cssRen'Py is at www.renpy.org/Both are free to use, even commercially. And my project? An updated and extended version of a 1982 text adventure game for the BBC B computer - Castle of Riddles
