Back from a March 8 to July 30th visit to hospital. Nurses coming to my abode to take care of wound areas. No strength and very tired much of the time.
Will drop in when strength is better.

Ted - thank God to hear from you. Don't know what 'wound' you're referring to, but hope everything will get better for you. Hopefully your recovery will be speedy, and you can regale us with your story. Again, very good to hear from you. Chris.

Agree with the sentiment already expressed...I was thinking recently too, it's been a while. Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.

For adults only: the wound is on my butt. The size of a silver dollar now. Have a couple of smaller finger nail size holes still remaining on my butt. Doc thinks the infection started a couple of years back, right on my tail bone. Men, being stupid, and I classify my being as in the 'men' group, thought I was just getting old or had the flu and didn't think it was serious enough to see doctor. Friends kept saying "Go to the hospital" or "Go see your doctor". Finally I gave in and went to my doctor who took one look at me and said "Off to the hospital". I went to ICU at local hospital who felt I wasn't qualified for them and sent me to a much larger ICU in a different hospital. I spent most of my months at the other hospital before being sent to first hospital (my little local hospital) for some occupational therapy to get some strength back.
Lately I've been having different people drive me to a bunch of appointments for much pocking and prodding, and much humming and hawing, before being sent back to my abode in the same condition as before.

I am female, but also think I can ride out any illness. However, the older I get, the quicker I decide to visit a doctor and sort out the problem before I get asthma attacks or worse. I guess wisdom does come with age for both males and females! :-)

So, an infection of some sort? Wow, that got a bit carried away with itself!

...sent back to my abode in the same condition as before... Sounds like a tough infection, like staph or MRSA? I'm not that keen on doctor visits myself. Once I got MRSA on the edge of a nipple (what is it with these odd locations??). I decided to ride it out. Wow, big mistake. Painful is an understatement. I irrigated my own wound (about passed out), and stuffed it full of triple antibiotic ointment. It did go away, but took weeks and left a permanent scar. Another time I got poison Ivy all down my face, starting in my eye brow. Well, I must have gotten it in my actual eye, because some of it became infected. Was later told it had gotten in my blood through my eyes. So I developed these hideous black sores on my face from the infection, and that took weeks to heal. Again, permanent scars, deep white marks where the infection was. I won't screw around again. If it's painful or looks odd, off to the doc like a croc on a roc (ket).

Wow, Chris, hard to imagine that seemingly small sores could develop into such big problems, so I understand your initial reluctance to see a doctor.
Glad you are ok, now.

Ria, yes, all fine now, but what a learning experience. Those episodes both occurred a few years back. Infection is nothing to mess around with.

Yikes, Chris. You are one tough man. It's a fine line between tough and dumb, Ted. Haha - jury is still out. My wife might say I lean toward stubborn. Hate going to doctors and hospitals.
