I PM'd Ria shortly after the quake hit Mexico and haven't heard from her as if this posting. Any member know what's happening in the area where she lived in Mexico or heard from her at all?

No worries, thanks for the concern but I did not have internet for over a week during the hurricane and earthquake events. While I did not feel any tremors, several areas of Merida and the Yucatan did. But, all is well here.

Ah, so glad you are ok. Between the southern states, mexico, and the caribbean, it's been a grumbly, wet start to fall. But it is hurricane time of year. I think the Brits sent troops to some of their places in the Carib...

I still don´t have my hurricane bag completely ready but I have started. I guess I could grab my hurricane bag in case of earthquake. I do have family in Houston, Tx and Florida, so the family has been doing lots of texting. But, everyone is ok. I hope those who have families in affected areas are ok.

Glad to hear your family is fine. It must be horrible for people living in hurricane and earthquake hit areas. Seeing the devastation across the Caribbean is heartbreaking.

Canoes are tippy. That I know from experience. Kayak, maybe, but not good for more than 2 people as far as I know. Inflatable Zodiac? Seen quite a few bobbing around the waters of BC, especially the larger size with a rigid hull. Many of the smaller Zodiacs are easily deflated to the size of a suitcase. If you're out of electricity or don't have a standby generator then some cans of compressed air and it's ready for use.

I had to look up the definition of 'coracle'. What a great word. Now I have to find somewhere to use it sometime in an ebook or maybe scrabble. Save

Don´t see them in Walmart :-)
