Hello all, This is kind of marketing inquiry: I'm about to publish anthology containing old and new material. But first I'd like to know would it be bad practice/'illegal' to remove/unpublish the separate short stories and move them into single anthology? We are not talking about big sales here so there hardly is danger of mad audience.
regards, Painmike

No, there's nothing illegal about it. If you've got nothing to lose in terms of reviews or sales raking, go ahead.

Yes, I would agree with Serban. However, are you missing a marketing trick here? They could either buy them singularly which would cost them more, or all together in one book which could mean a savings. Might be just a case of adjusting the singles pricing....

Serban and Chelsfield, thank You for response, much appreciated. Chelsfield, you are right in that marketing aspect and I do not have any decent defense for my process; I just wanted initially to build an anthology but the work stretched so they came out slow piecemeal. Thanks again. Regards, Painmike

No need to defend your process. You can have it both ways. Your stories can remain for sale so that readers can buy them one at a time. And, you can offer them all together in an anthology. Think of it like a box set: readers can buy one novel at a time or buy a box set of two or three for a bargain price.
