I changed the price of my book almost 2 weeks ago. I sent a note to Smashwords customer support to ask how long it would take to have the price changes made effective at different sites. About a week later here's what I was told:
"When a price change is made, it must first be approved. This generally takes a business day or two. Then, it is sent out in the next available weekly shipment. At that point, it can take up to three weeks for all retailers to update the listing."
I have several questions I'd like feedback on: How do I know the price change was approved? How do I specifically know if a price change has been communicated to all outlets? And, since the response from Smashwords seems to indicate it can take over a month for a price change to take effect, can I contact the retailers directly to have them change it?
I need to have more control over pricing, and pricing consistency than I feel I'm being given by Smashwords.

You can check prices by visiting the various retailers.
The best way to have the price consistency you desire is to set the price and leave it. Moving the price up or down as you wish to do ends up hurting your sales as well as your reputation.
