I'm using Word for Mac 2011.
I would like my first paragraph of each chapter to have no indent. I created a "new style" based on "normal" and indicated the same font size, etc., but did not have the indent included. Having uploading the updated file to Smashwords, it works, except the first paragraph looks smaller than the rest of the document. I mean the font size looks smaller. I double-checked all my settings, and all is well. I then downloaded samples from Smashwords in the different formats available (.pdf, mobi, etc) Everything looks great except for .epub. The .epub file is the one in question, looks too small. This is very annoying and can't figure out why it's not working. On another note, I could not get the .mobi format to work either, the first line indent is still there. I remember reading Mark C. suggestion on "tricking" meat grinder by making the first line indent "0.03" however it's not working.
Any suggestions on the .epub being too small would be fantastic... or the .mobi. Just would love to see all my first paragraphs with no indent. Is there another way to accomplish this?
Thanks, MG

Can we find the epub somewhere to take a look at?
If it's just the epub I suggest correcting the html of the epub rather than fiddling with the Word document and then uploading the epub.

No. I had pulled it off smashwords after realizing it was messed up and re-uploaded my original.
