On Thursday I attended a public meeting at a library on the topic of publishing. The guest speaker was presented as a professional author experienced in publishing ebooks and print books. The next day I wrote an article on the author, pointing out some misinformation he presented and his utter lack of proper editing. I've since received some criticism by email for my post, from members of the writers group I belong to and which brought in the speaker. Two members felt it was unfair to post such a review of guest speaker, and one of the two members felt so strongly he/she suggested I remove the post. I believe that any author presenting himself or herself as a professional author at a public forum is representing all authors. Providing misinformation is not professional in my opinion. You may read my blog post here... punzhupuzzles.wordpress.com/2012/04/20/author-russ-crossley-at-the-murrayville-library-sheesh/. Feel free to leave comments on my blog and/or here.

$8.99 for a 67k novel like Lushites is not going to sell well, even without the 1 star reviews that highlight the bad spelling, etc. The one (fake) five star review won't help that. I suppose his idea is to win with quantity rather than quality, but you are still going to need to take some care for that to work.
