I'd like to put a direct link in my blog to each site that carries the SW imprint of my book. For Apple, the only way I can find the book is through iTunes and iTunes' direct link includes an id number. Is that number unique to the direct link (to the book) or does it tie back to my own iTunes account in some way?
In other words, is it safe to publish that entire direct link (to the world) or not?

From the Smashwords FAQ's page: How do I locate my book in the Apple iBookstore? The simplest way to locate your book is to download the free Apple iBooks app on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, and then search by author name or book title. Keep in mind that Apple operates the iBookstore in multiple countries, so if Apple isn't yet distributing our books to a specific country's store, then you won't find the books there. Smashwords distributes to iBookstores in Canada, Germany, the U.K, the U.S., France, and Australia. If you don't own one of these devices metioned above, you can check the availability book country by country using your web browser. Here's how: How to Locate your Smashwords Ebook in the Apple Store: Take a look at this (study the URL before you click): itunes.apple.com/us/book/isbn9781452300030 country code ^ ^ISBN ^ It's the hyperlink to the Smashwords Book Marketing Guide in the US iBookstore. Let's deconstruct the URL ("URL" stands for "Uniform Resource Locator," a fancy word for "web address") so you too can find and link to your books at the various iBookstores around the world. The link begins with itunes.apple.com followed by the two letter code for the country. The US is "us," Canada = CA, UK = GB, France = FR, Australia = AU and Germany = DE. After the country code, add the "/book/isbn[then enter your ISBN without dashes. To find your ISBN, click to your Dashboard's ISBN Manager. COOL TOOL MAKES IT EASIER: Smashwords author Russel Phillips has created a cool tool that makes the above process even easier. The Smashwords Forum has a post on these tools by Russel here: smashwords-forum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=marketing&action=display&thread=113.

I've just added a new tool to that page, which creates a link that will direct the user to the book page on their local iBookstore (so if the user is in the UK, the link takes them to the UK store, if they're in the US, it takes them to the US store, etc). It will also do the same for Amazon. Edited to add: Just to clarify, the links generate by either of my tools are safe to post on your blog, website, wherever.
